As a veteran in the trade of 'tipping back', I maintain a fairly high tolerance when it comes to alcohol. That said, I thought it was about time I put my tolerance to the test. With a morning mimosa, I sipped and then surveyed my status with winemaker Rebecca Pittock Shouldis. Cheers to 1 mimosa & .01 on the breathalyzer!

When in Portland, ride bikes, drink beer & sip wine.
After getting new ink (click HERE to see what that looked like) from tattoo artist Kari Yocom, we spent a day with a brilliant chef & sommelier - Tan Huynh of Crudo. While Portland is a city known for many things, we focused on the biking and the breweries. Our guide, Tan, started us off at Brewcycle, where we biked around downtown, making stops at a selection of local breweries, including the Lucky Labrador Brewing Company, Bridgeport Brewing & Lompoc Brewing. After that, a food truck experience was in order. As the day was cold and windy, something spicy to warm us up seemed appropriate. We opted for Thai. Tan and I went with Pad Thai. Rebecca chose a wide noodle dish of some sort that was entirely impressive. For dessert, we headed over to Salt & Straw for gourmet homemade ice cream that did not disappoint. We concluded the evening with wine at Pour. Cheers to Portland - to the biking, the brews and what follows!
Tasting Notes: Nose of lemon grass, Asian pear, golden delicious apples, fresh apricot & orange blossoms with sweet spiciness of jasmine & yellow curry. Mouth is filled with lean acid up front rounding out to rich flavors in the mid palate with a long lingering finish. Notes of lemon sorbet & orange raspberries leave a final mouth watering impression. The wine is bone dry & incredible with seafood or Asian fair.
