REBECCA PITTOCK SHOULDIS
WINEMAKER & PRODUCTION MANAGER
I departed from my career in aviation as a maintenance technician on the F-15 Fighter Aircraft for the Oregon Air National Guard to pursue my passion for wine in July of 2005 when I opened a wine shop, on a complete whim, in downtown McMinnville, Oregon.
Just two short years later, I found myself working with my sweetheart Thibaud Mandet as an intern with Willakenzie Estate during harvest in 2007. In 2008, I founded Northwest Wines To You while working as Operations Manager at the Abbey Wine Warehouse.
Next thing I knew I became a winemaker, producing premium Pinot Noir for Ghost Hill Cellars. By 2012 my winemaking clients expanded to include helping Christine Metz Andrus with the reincarnation of Gypsy Dancer Estates.
Just this past year I started yet another new venture with The Wine R.A.T. and releasing my own label, "A La Main" which means "By Hand" in French - a true reflection of my approach to winemaking. I am still making the wines for Ghost Hill Cellars, Gypsy Dancer Estate, Grow Africa, and an altogether new project called Singularity. In 2014, this one woman show processed more than 42 tons of grapes!
After nearly 15 years, I still enjoy my work as a Technical Sgt 'Weekend Warrior' for the 142nd Fighter Wing of the Oregon Air National Guard. I'm the mother of two beautiful children who have grown up way to fast and the winemaker for many incredible clients.
Mr. Toad has nothing on this wild ride! If you can pin me down, I love to talk about not only the wines I currently produce and those of my clients and friends, but also about wines from all over the world that have impacted my life in so many ways.
